In Tunisia, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung's youth study from 2023 reveals that a generation of youth once galvanized by the Revolution now perceives that its activist momentum has largely stalled, giving way to a pronounced sense of political disillusionment. Respondents repeatedly voice anxieties about the deteriorating political climate, the perceived mismanagement of public institutions, and the escalating economic pressures affecting their families.
Against this backdrop, the study highlights a shift toward self‑oriented strategies for navigating uncertainty. Young Tunisians increasingly prioritize personal economic achievement as a pathway to stability while relying on close family networks and household ties for emotional and material support. These findings underscore the intersection of waning collective revolutionary fervor with emerging individualistic survival tactics in a challenging socio‑political environment.
